I am a visual artist based in Rotterdam (C3 - Studios). My practice investigates how meaning is produced within systems, rules and everyday structures. I work with existing objects and situations, such as dartboards, fire extinguishers, industrial materials and public spaces, which I shift or intervene in so their function and meaning become uncertain.
My work often develops through long-term research into behavioural patterns, repetition and performance. This includes projects such as installations in public space, interventions in institutional contexts, and an ongoing investigation into darts as a performative system.
I worked at West Den Haag for six years, including two years as a floormanager, where I gained experience in the production and presentation of contemporary art. I am currently also working within an art advisory context at MDD Arts, which gives me insight into how value, audience and positioning operate within different parts of the art world.
Alongside my practice, I am active as an organiser and curator at Studio Pompstraat, C3-Studios, De Aanschouw, and the Makers of Leiden network. I see these activities as part of my artistic practice, as they are directly connected to how I build contexts, structures and situations in which work can emerge.
